Week 1
Blogs, short for web logs, can take a lot of different forms. Some function as online diaries, others as stream of consciousness writings, and still others as a way of sharing interests with readers, evaluating the news, etc. You’re reading one now! There are blogs written on nearly every topic you can imagine, and many of them will link to others on the same general topic, as you’ll discover.
One way to discover blogs on topics that are of interest to you is to use: http://www.google.com/blogsearch/advanced_blog_search?hl=en though there are many alternatives, and you’ll quickly discover that blogs tend to link to other blogs…
For the first of our 21 Things, find two blogs – one having to do with your work, the other having to do with something you’re interested in, a hobby or activity. Browse the options that you find, until you come across a pair that you like, and might like to follow for a while. Once you’ve settled on your choices, share them with everyone via email, along with a brief description of what they cover. If you’re already a blog reader, try to find a pair of new blogs!
